This long linen and cotton shirt is inspired by textile fragments found in Latvian archaeological excavations dating from the 8th to the 13th century. Unlike later ethnographic shirts, this model features maximum simplicity and the ancient "tunic" shape, which served as the essential foundation for the entire ancient costume.
Historical Silhouette: The straight, archaic cut with underarm gussets ensures freedom of movement and provides an authentic look when worn under ancient shawls (villaines) and aprons.
Period-Appropriate Material: The 50% linen and 50% cotton blend visually resembles ancient, hand-woven canvas. The linen provides historical stiffness and durability, while the cotton makes it softer and more comfortable against the skin.
A Base for Customization: The shirt is designed with a minimalist aesthetic, allowing you to personalize it according to specific tribes (Curonian, Latgallian, Semigallian, etc.). The collar and cuffs can be further embellished with tablet-woven bands or bronze rings.
